Al término del debate multipartidario, el resultado de la votación fue así: 76 votos en contra, 46 se pronunciaron a favor y cuatro se abstuvieron.

Estuvieron presentes en la votación 128 legisladores, por lo que se requería la adhesión de 52 votos para admitir la moción de vacancia presidencial.

La presidenta del Congreso, Maricarmen Alva Prieto, suspendió la sesión a las 7.47 de la noche. Se reanudará la sesión deliberativa el jueves a partir de las 9 de la mañana, para atender dictámenes de proyectos de ley de importancia nacional.

La tercera vicepresidenta del Congreso, Patricia Chirinos Venegas (Avanza País), es la obsesionada parlamentaria que sueña dormida o despierta con lograr la vacancia presidencial del jefe de Estado peruano Pedro Castillo Terrones, según su sustento de esta tarde de la moción N.° 1222, que planteaba la vacancia del presidente de la República, era por su permanente incapacidad moral, según lo establecido en el inciso 2) del artículo 113 de la Constitución Política del Perú.

Su aventurera y peregrina propuesta se basa en un recuento de supuestos hechos de corrupción en los que habría incurrido el presidente Castillo, y que fueran publicados por un medio periodístico de circulación nacional sensacionalista cuyos contenidos son bastantes sosos.

Chirinos Venegas sostuvo que entre los motivos de pedido de vacancia está el presunto tráfico de influencias en ascensos en las Fuerzas Armadas y la actuación del ex secretario general de la Presidencia de la República, Bruno Pacheco, que se «enriquecía por arte de magia”, además, según ella, por violar nuestra soberanía abriéndole las puertas al comunismo.

De otro lado, expresó que lo único que ha hecho el jefe de Estado es «dinamitar las bases de nuestro Estado, infringir la Constitución y ser desleal con su partido y el pueblo que lo eligió y le dio su confianza»

“El presidente tiene solo 25 % de la aprobación y 65 % de desaprobación. El Perú no soporta más. Dejemos los intereses por amor a nuestra patria y a nuestra gente. Votemos con el corazón. Esta no es mi lucha, sino la de todos los peruanos que amamos a nuestra tierra”, exclamó con vehemencia durante su sustentación.
