Tras la reciente visita de inspección a las zonas aledañas al puerto del Callao, que vienen siendo afectados por la contaminación ambiental por metales pesados, el ministro de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Juan Francisco Silva, lideró una reunión multisectorial para afrontar esta problemática y encontrar soluciones.

En la sesión realizada en la sede del Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC), participaron el gobernador regional del Callao, Dante Mandriotti, la presidenta encargada del Consejo Directivo de la OEFA, Miriam Alegría, y el coronel PNP Mario Villacorta, jefe de la División de Tránsito de Lima, entre otros funcionarios.

“El MTC tiene toda la disponibilidad de mantener las puertas abiertas al diálogo. Estamos buscando mecanismos que se trabajen en equipo y de manera concertada para resolver problemas que afectan a la población”, indicó.

Por su parte, el gobernador Mandriotti refirió que este problema es bastante grave, pues los niños afectados por esta contaminación sufren daños de por vida. Agregó que en la zona de Ventanilla se cuenta con terrenos donde se podría trasladar a la población más afectada.

El titular del MTC reconoció que el problema es histórico, pero aseguró que es momento de resolverlo y se mostró a favor del traslado de la población más afectada. “Hagamos el convenio sin dudarlo. Que el gobernador facilite el terreno y ejecutemos el traslado para darle solución al menos a un porcentaje de la población que está dentro del entorno de la contaminación ambiental”, señaló SIlva.

Consideró que, si se tiene detectado ya el problema de la contaminación por plomo, corresponde realizar las denuncias del caso, de acuerdo a las competencias establecidas por ley. “Nuestra labor como servidores del Estado es apoyar a la población para proteger su salud e integridad”, agregó el titular de la cartera de Transportes y Comunicaciones.

Aseguró que el MTC tiene toda la disponibilidad para buscar los mecanismos que sean necesarios para trabajar en equipo y resolver este problema. Propuso la creación de una comisión multisectorial que, en base a un plan de trabajo coordinado, haga el seguimiento y monitoreo de las acciones y competencias de cada sector, en favor de los ciudadanos de esta zona del puerto del Callao.
