Con la ayuda de una escalera telescópica de la Compañía de Bomberos, este personaje navideño logró llegar hasta los pisos más altos de las torres para que ningún menor se quede sin obsequio y así no pierda la ilusión en estas fechas de unión y amor.
De acuerdo con el director de la Villa Panamericana, Juan Oriundo, este centro de aislamiento tiene a la fecha a 126 menores, entre las edades de 0 a 14 años, batallando contra el coronavirus.
El especialista detalló que la mayoría de ellos ingresaron debido a que sus padres fueron diagnosticados con la enfermedad y para realizar el cerco epidemiológico, los pequeños fueron internados junto a sus progenitores.
Además, precisó que de los 126 internados, solo 20 serán dados de alta en los próximos días junto a sus padres y celebrarán la Navidad en sus hogares; mientras que el resto permanecerá en la Villa Panamericana recibiendo la atención adecuada para su pronta recuperación.
Sobre el tratamiento y cuidado que reciben los menores diagnosticados con COVID-19, Oriundo explicó que son constantemente evaluados junto a sus padres y se les brinda las dosis de medicamentos que requieren.
Añadió que la mayoría de ellos vienen con síntomas leves como fiebre, tos seca, dolor de garganta, dolor de cabeza y malestar general, mientras que otros son asintomáticos, pero igualmente son internados debido al diagnóstico de los padres.
“El personal médico de la Villa Panamericana realiza un trabajo intenso con los menores de edad que se encuentran internados en este centro de aislamiento. Un gran grupo de ellos, llega porque sus padres son diagnosticados con COVID-19, otros llegan porque tienen la enfermedad. En ese sentido, las enfermeras vigilan a cada uno de ellos para ver sus evoluciones”, sostuvo.
Asimismo, manifestó que por el momento el número de ingresos de niños, 0 a 14 años se mantiene y que los picos más altos de internados en la Villa Panamericana se registraron en setiembre de 2020 con 662 menores y en noviembre de 2021 con 469 niños.
Desde abril de 2020, fecha en la que se iniciaron las atenciones en la Villa Panamericana, hasta la actualidad, se atendieron a más de 5,420 menores, de los cuales la mayoría ha sido dada de alta.
El presidente ejecutivo de EsSalud, Mario Carhuapoma Yance, instó a los padres de familia a cumplir con las medidas de bioseguridad como el uso correcto de la mascarilla, el lavado de manos y el distanciamiento social.
También exhortó a la población a vacunarse contra el nuevo coronavirus y consideró que la dosis completa del antígeno evitará que la persona presente cuadros graves de la enfermedad.
