Acompañado por el ministro de Transportes y Comunicaciones, Juan Silva; el mandatario inspeccionó esta mañana el primer tramo excavado por la tuneladora “Delia” de la Línea 2 del Metro de Lima y Callao.

La actividad se realizó en la estación Circunvalación, en el distrito de San Luis, y contó con la presencia de la gerente general del Concesionario Metro de Lima Línea 2, Carmen Deulofeu; y la presidenta ejecutiva de la Autoridad de Transporte Urbano para Lima y Callao (ATU), María Jara.

Cuando esté terminada, la Línea 2 del Metro de Lima movilizará a más de un millón de personas por día y en solo 45 minutos unirá el distrito de Ate con el Callao. Ese tiempo que se gane será el tiempo de las familias para que lo aprovechen, refuercen los lazos y compartan con sus seres queridos en casa, destacó el jefe del Estado.

“El impacto social de esta obra es muy importante. En este primer tramo se pondrá en servicio cinco trenes con seis coches para llevar hasta doscientas personas cada uno. Es decir, si el aforo es al cien por ciento, cada tren podrá transportar 1,200 pasajeros. Los usuarios podrán movilizarse más rápido, aumentar su productividad y mejorar sus ingresos económicos”, resaltó.

“Ese es el cambio que buscamos, un mejor servicio de transporte que redunde en la vida de millones de peruanos no solo de Lima y Callao”, enfatizó.

TUNELADORA
En otro momento, el presidente Castillo señaló que la tuneladora “Delia” lleva este nombre en homenaje a Delia Tasaico del Pino, la primera mujer peruana que se graduó de ingeniera en la Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI).

“Esta tuneladora excava con una cabeza giratoria con motores hidráulicos. Al mismo tiempo que excava, coloca los soportes de concreto para sostener el túnel. La máquina ya ha perforado casi todo el tramo que va desde la estación San Juan de Dios hasta la avenida Circunvalación, en el distrito de San Luis. El trabajo debe concluir esta semana y nosotros tenemos la satisfacción de ser testigos de este avance”, destacó.

“Solo para tener una idea de la magnitud de la obra, cada soporte de concreto en el túnel tiene un peso de 40 toneladas y a la fecha Delia ha colocado 420 soportes o anillos denominados dovelas. Se trata de un trabajo épico que merece nuestra admiración”, manifestó.

El mandatario también sostuvo que la reactivación económica en la que está empeñada el Gobierno, pasa por construir obras de gran dimensión, como el Metro de Lima y Callao, buscando siempre preservar la vida y la salud de los ciudadanos, pero, sobre todo, generando empleo productivo, con transparencia, para más peruanos.

“Asimismo, están en marcha proyectos para construir trenes a lo largo y ancho del país, como los trenes de cercanías, los teleféricos y los monorrieles. Estas obras impulsarán el crecimiento económico y el desarrollo del país en los próximos años”, resaltó.
