“Juntos saldremos de esta pandemia, porque somos un pueblo que se ha forjado en la adversidad y ha sabido salir vencedor, somos un pueblo que siempre ha demostrado valentía, coraje y determinación para superar cualquier obstáculo”, refirió.

Durante su discurso por el Día del Ejército y 197° aniversario de la Batalla de Ayacucho, el mandatario expresó sus condolencias por el fallecimiento del comandante FAP Luis Antonio Córdova Ávila; el capitán FAP Rubén Moscol Puertas; el técnico de 1° FAP Alejandro Paz Mio; y el suboficial de 3° Edy Loayza Llontoy, tripulantes de un helicóptero accidentado en Huarochirí, Lima.

“Es una irreparable pérdida para sus familiares, para nuestra familia militar y el Perú; va nuestro sentido pésame a sus familias, a quiénes acompañamos en el consuelo. A los bravos aviadores les hacemos llegar un mensaje a la eternidad, con el abrazo fraterno de la Patria que los vio nacer”, remarcó.

El jefe de Estado subrayó que hoy, en el Día de la Batalla de Ayacucho, el país recuerda también con profunda gratitud a los valientes peruanos que, en 1824, en la Pampa de la Quinua, derramaron su sangre y entregaron sus vidas para legarnos una patria libre y soberana, fruto de la suma de sacrificios, esfuerzos y voluntades.

Desde entonces, destacó que los ejércitos patriotas demostraron valentía y coraje en la Guerra del Pacífico, en el conflicto del Falso Paquisha, en la lucha contra el terrorismo, en el conflicto del Cenepa y en tantas otras gestas que han enaltecido el orgullo patrio.

“Hoy, que enfrentamos la peor crisis sanitaria, nuevamente nuestro Ejército está en la primera línea, al igual que la Policía. Durante los últimos dos años, nuestras fuerzas del orden contribuyeron, sin escatimar esfuerzos, a garantizar la seguridad, salud y tranquilidad de la población”, indicó.

Enfatizó que el Ejército cumple una importante labor llevando la presencia del Estado a los peruanos que más lo necesitan en los lugares más alejados, aportando hospitales de campaña y personal dispuesto a entregar lo mejor de sí para atender a los enfermos, trasladar alimentos, equipamientos y medicinas.

Recientemente, recordó el presidente Castillo, los integrantes del Ejército lo acompañaron a la región Amazonas para asistir a la población afectada por el fuerte sismo, en la evacuación de los damnificados, la remoción de escombros, la limpieza de vías y la distribución de ayuda humanitaria.

En esa línea, el dignatario indicó que hoy el Ejército sigue desplegando una lucha sin cuartel contra el terrorismo que, en reducidos grupos, opera en los Valles de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene y Mantaro (VRAEM), junto al narcotráfico. “No cesaremos hasta eliminarlos completamente, como ya lo hemos hecho”, dijo.

Recalcó que actualmente el país lucha frontalmente y sin tregua contra la corrupción, dado que existe el deber y la obligación de construir la Nación, sobre bases democráticas y morales sólidas, para que todos los peruanos y peruanas tengan la oportunidad de crecer y progresar.

“Hermanos, en este día, quiero transmitirles fe y esperanza, fe y confianza; pero, sobre todo, unidad, porque la estamos construyendo cada día en democracia, con la flama de la fe y el orgullo nacional”, apuntó.
