Sanipes will consolidate its Certification Mark in 2022, giving greater added value to aquaculture products.

Peruvian News Agency PRENSAPERU.PE https://prensaperu.pe Twitter: @prensaperupe The sanitary seal that is already used by the first 03 authorized Aquaculture Production Centers, is a guarantee that the products have been certified by the sanitary authority and they meet the standards of quality, health, safety and traceability before processing plants and national and international markets.

The National Fisheries Health Agency (Sanipes), attached to the Ministry of Production, will consolidate the use of its Certification Mark CLASSIFIED CENTER / PERÚ / SANIPES in 2022, which has already been awarded to the first 03 Aquaculture Production Centers (CPA ) located in the Puno and San Martín regions, after being classified under the Risk-Based Process Control (FPBR) model.

Through this sanitary seal, Sanipes provides the guarantee that the products that are marketed comply with the standards of quality, traceability, health and safety. In other words, the products come from establishments that operate using good aquaculture practices, complying with their hygiene and sanitation programs, attending to biosecurity and using tools that allow the traceability of said products.

The executive president of Sanipes, Johnny Marchán Peña, reported that recently the Puno farming centers TITICACA TROUT N&Y E.I.R.L. and TITICACA TROUT PERÚ S.C.R.L, and CPA ESTACIÓN PESQUERA AHUASHIYACU of San Martín, received the classification under the process control model, and are automatically authorized to use the Certification Mark; being the first to benefit and take advantage of the model to improve their production processes.

It should be noted that in the country, there are 777 Aquaculture Production Centers that have the Sanitary Qualification protocol granted by Sanipes (318 for fish, 233 for bivalve molluscs, 189 for crustaceans and 37 for hatchery); and among the main species cultivated in Peruvian aquaculture infrastructures, the trout, tilapia and paiche (fish), fan shells (bivalve molluscs) and prawns (crustaceans) stand out.

The products that bear the Certification Mark will have a greater added value that will allow aquaculture producers to accelerate the commercialization with processing plants, fishing terminals, supply markets, supermarkets and retail markets at the local level; doing the same with international markets.

“Obtaining the use of the SANIPES BRAND has awakened the expectation of the producers of the Aquaculture of Micro and Small Companies (AMYPE) and the Aquaculture of Medium and Large Companies (AMYGE), who are sanitary qualified and also those who have in process; since the use of the seal will allow them to distinguish their products, associating them with the rigor of their own self-controls and with the regulation carried out by the health authority ”, concluded Marchán.
