“Si no hubieran hecho todo el esfuerzo, conjuntamente con el Gabinete, para tomar en serio y bajo responsabilidad el tema de la salud, no hubiéramos llegado a más del 70% de la población vacunada. Gracias a los gobernadores y al pueblo unido que han entendido que la salud es lo primero. Ese es el encargo que nos ha hecho el pueblo”, afirmó.

Durante la reunión, el mandatario pidió a los gobernadores regionales trabajar de lleno para garantizar el retorno presencial a clases escolares el próximo año, empezando por la modernización de la infraestructura educativa, empleando materiales de la zona para optimizar los costos.

“Estamos fortalecidos con sus aportes, en el Gabinete tomaremos estos para hacerlos viables en educación y salud”, refirió, al tiempo de señalar que se tomará con mayor responsabilidad y firmeza el problema de la inseguridad ciudadana y que no se dará tregua a la delincuencia.

El presidente Castillo, asimismo, precisó que los aportes planteados por los gobernadores regionales durante la reunión, que tuvo como propósito consensuar una agenda prioritaria, tendrán un cronograma que permitirá conocer las tareas, los avances y los próximos encuentros.

En ese contexto, llamó a las autoridades regionales a continuar trabajando con transparencia, prontitud y por una verdadera descentralización, dado que comprende cómo el centralismo ha impedido que se dé a los gobiernos regionales y municipales lo que les corresponde para impulsar obras en favor de sus poblaciones.

Pidió priorizar, en especial, aquellas obras que se encuentran inconclusas por muchos años y, si es necesario emitir normas para darles viabilidad, se hará a través del Ejecutivo.

Dijo estar seguro que el Congreso también haría lo propio, porque los legisladores escuchan el clamor de la población durante sus viajes de representación.

El Jefe de Estado anunció también que se realizará una sesión del Consejo de Ministros en Moquegua, para atender las necesidades de la región. La próxima semana, además, volverá a la región Amazonas, a fin de supervisar la atención a los damnificados por el fuerte sismo.

“Saludo, agradezco y reconozco la solidaridad de los demás gobernadores regionales con Amazonas, ese es el trabajo que debemos hacer, cuando hay problemas en la región no miremos solamente, se debe tener el gesto y la solidaridad”, refirió.

La reunión con los gobernadores regionales se realizó en el Gran Comedor de Palacio de Gobierno. El presidente Castillo estuvo acompañado en este encuentro por la presidenta del Consejo de Ministros, Mirtha Vásquez, y otros miembros de su Gabinete Ministerial.

President Castillo, likewise, specified that the contributions raised by the regional governors during the meeting, which had the purpose of agreeing on a priority agenda, will have a schedule that will allow to know the tasks, the progress and the next meetings.

In this context, he called on the regional authorities to continue working with transparency, promptness and for true decentralization, given that he understands how centralism has prevented regional and municipal governments from being given their due to promote works in favor of their populations.

He asked to prioritize, in particular, those works that have been unfinished for many years and, if it is necessary to issue regulations to make them viable, it will be done through the Executive.

He said he was sure that Congress would also do the same, because legislators listen to the clamor of the population during their representation trips.

The Head of State also announced that a session of the Council of Ministers will be held in Moquegua, to meet the needs of the region. Next week, he will also return to the Amazon region, in order to supervise care for those affected by the strong earthquake.

“I greet, thank and acknowledge the solidarity of the other regional governors with Amazonas, that is the work that we must do, when there are problems in the region, let’s not look only, we must have the gesture and solidarity,” he said.

The meeting with the regional governors was held in the Great Hall of the Government Palace. President Castillo was accompanied at this meeting by the president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vásquez, and other members of his Ministerial Cabinet.
