Washington D.C. jefe de Estado tuvo junta de trabajo con la directora de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS).

Etienne, la directora de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), en Washington D.C., con el fin de buscar consensos en temas de salud y seguir trabajando para hacerle frente a la crisis global generada por la pandemia de la Covid-19.

Durante esta cita, expresó la voluntad del Perú de fortalecer los lazos con la OPS y la Organización Mundial de la Salud, para cooperar por el desarrollo de la salud de los peruanos más vulnerables; así como dar respuesta ante situaciones de desastres y emergencias.

Esta reunión permite al Perú integrarse, al más alto nivel político, en la Plataforma Regional que impulsará ese organismo y busca avanzar en la producción de vacunas y otras tecnologías sanitaria para combatir el COVID-19.

En este importante encuentro, el presidente peruano estuvo acompañado por los ministros de Salud, Hernando Cevallos; y de Relaciones Exteriores, Óscar Maúrtua; y por el representante permanente del Perú ante la OEA, Harold Forsyth.

En su segundo día de actividades en Washington D.C., que forma parte de su primera gira internacional por México y Estados Unidos, el mandatario también participó hoy en la sesión del Consejo Permanente de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA).

Por tal motivo, el mandatario llegó ayer domingo a Estados Unidos, tras culminar su visita a México donde asistió a la VI Cumbre de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (Celac).

Etienne, the director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), in Washington DC, in order to seek consensus on health issues and continue working to face the global crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

During this meeting, he expressed the will of Peru to strengthen ties with PAHO and the World Health Organization, to cooperate for the development of the health of the most vulnerable Peruvians; as well as responding to disaster and emergency situations.

This meeting allows Peru to join, at the highest political level, in the Regional Platform that will promote that organization and seeks to advance in the production of vaccines and other health technologies to combat COVID-19.

In this important meeting, the Peruvian president was accompanied by the Ministers of Health, Hernando Cevallos; and Foreign Relations, Óscar Maúrtua; and by the permanent representative of Peru to the OAS, Harold Forsyth.

On his second day of activities in Washington D.C., which is part of his first international tour of Mexico and the United States, the president also participated today in the session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS).

For this reason, the president arrived in the United States on Sunday, after completing his visit to Mexico where he attended the VI Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).
